Pitch your business concept by Monday for chance at prize money
ideaLabs is an annual business idea competition presented by the Entrepreneurial Education Consortium (EEC). Each spring, Case Western Reserve University and 10 other colleges and universities in Northeast Ohio select one undergraduate student entrepreneurial team as their representative in the EEC ideaLabs pitch competition regional finals.
Visit the registration page to learn how you can take part in the on-campus qualifying competition. Submissions are due by 11:59 p.m. Monday, March 20.
For the on-campus ideaLabs competition, CWRU teams submit business concept outlines. A panel of judges reviews these submissions. First place receives $500. Second and third place receive $300 and $200 respectively.
The first-place finisher from CWRU moves on to represent the university at the ideaLabs regional pitch event: They receive $1,000 as a regional qualifier. They submit more detailed business plans and a slide deck, and compete for a share of the $10,000 regional finals prize pool.
Augmenting ideaLabs 2017, CWRU LaunchNet and CWRU Career Center are offering a special CWRU ideaLabs Social Entrepreneurship Challenge.
While many ideaLabs entries propose ideas for-profit enterprises, teams competing in the CWRU Social Entrepreneurship Challenge develop concepts for not-for-profit, socially-conscious ventures for a chance to win a $500 prize. Learn more about the Social Entrepreneurship Challenge.
