Apply to be a sustainability ambassador
The CWRU Office for Sustainability works to make our campus a greener, healthier place to live and study. The office, guided by the CWRU Climate Action Plan signed in 2011, has the ultimate goal of a carbon-neutral campus by 2050. Students are employed to organize events and conduct outreach and education across the university.
The office is currently seeking passionate environmentally-minded students to apply for Sustainability Ambassador positions for the 2017-18 school year!
Last year, 14 Sustainability Ambassadors organized a residence hall energy contest, a freecycle event (like swapping your unwanted stuff in a free garage sale!), worked with Greek houses to recycle more, wrote our Tree Campus USA application, worked with campus food and hunger groups on Food Week, conducted surveys about commuting to and from campus and designed water-themed posters for campus.
Ambassadors work on a team of two on a specific sustainability topic and are expected to work about 30 hours per semester. Attendance at a weekly hour-long meeting to coordinate projects and stay up to date on what’s going on with other teams is required, as well as participation in other office programs.
