CWRU | First Year

Applications for 2018-19 financial aid due March 1

To be considered for need-based financial aid (grants, loans and Federal Work-Study) for the 2018-19 school year, students must submit the CWRU Financial Aid Form.

U.S. Citizens and Permanent Residents must also complete the FAFSA. Students who entered CWRU in or after the spring of 2017 must also complete the CSS Profile.

Your required forms are due no later than March 1, 2018. Those who do not file the required documents by March 1 may not be eligible for need-based CWRU financial aid for the 2018-19 school year.

Students who receive a merit scholarship and are not interested in pursuing need-based financial aid for the 2018-19 academic year do not need to complete this process. Please notify the Office of University Financial Aid if you do not intend to apply for need-based financial aid so that we may update your record.

Complete your financial aid application now:

  • Complete the FAFSA at
Only for U.S. Citizens and Permanent Residents. The CWRU FAFSA school code is 003137. We encourage use of the IRS Data Retrieval Tool (DRT) to complete your FAFSA, which will require calendar year 2016 income data. Unlike past years, there is no need to estimate your income figures.
  • Complete the CSS Profile at
Only for students who entered the university as undergraduates in or after the spring of 2017. The CWRU CSS Profile school code is 1105. You will be required to use calendar year 2016 income data.

After submitting your required financial aid documents, you may be prompted by the Office of University Financial Aid to submit additional information. Any additional documentation requested must be submitted no later than April 1 to be considered for institutional funding.
